Jon’s understated elegance was the starting point when finding solutions for the interior design project. An Aqua model was chosen for the kitchen and all the household appliances were hidden in columns and only the washing and cooking zones and roomy work areas were left on view. The colour, a lead grey texture lacquer, which was highly in keeping with the setting and the personality of the owner, combines perfectly with a phenolic worktop made out of multipurpose resistant compact material, where the vitroceramic hob and sink could be built in. The suspended workshop gives the feeling of space while making it easier to clean.
Jon’s choice of architecture was vocational. However, he knew that everything requires hard work and perseverance. He know that those ruins would be his home from the very moment that he saw them. From then onwards, he only built using his ideas and successfully turned his project for his own home into reality with time and dedication. Meanwhile, the hours, days and years went by…
When working on the project for his own home, Jon sought to integrate it with the environment and also with his outlook, way of living, thinking… Therefore, he wanted a kitchen that said something about him in an understated way, which maintains in secret, a reserved, nearly mysterious philosophy. He needed a geometric place that did not enclose the kitchen in a single space, but it would be shared with the rest of the house to be able to dine, have lunch, breakfast and, even, work there. A lover of minimum expression and good taste, he was looking for an uncomplicated kitchen.
