40S

modern wardrobe wall storage system

Basic product description

Where once kitchens, living and dining rooms were all carefully separated, today we prefer to enjoy openness and space. The walls have gone. But so have those well-known places to put things. So what do we do with all the bits and pieces we hang on to? The answer is 40S. Outside it’s just as generously designed as the homes of today. Inside there’s enough room for TVs and stereos, crockery, games, books … simply for everything that used to be stuffed into all sorts of chests of drawers, display cases and cupboards. As we said: used to be.
Granted, with an all-rounder like 40S we’ll be faced with a couple of tricky questions sooner or later. Is it the generous, variable layout that makes us like it so much? Or is it more the umpteen different surface finishes, shelf positions and colors that help us to put our truly individual and unmistakable 40S together and make it ours alone? And what about those spacious functional TV elements, where even tomorrow’s most extravagant flat screens will still find plenty of room? But in the end, does it really matter?
No one home is like another. No one person is like another. Why should it be otherwise with their furnishings? 40S could be made with a myriad of different drawers and handles, with glass doors and textile, high gloss, matt lacquer or veneer finishes, all of which you can soon forget about — apart from that particular one that suits you and your style of living to a T.
If you’re someone who can’t decide whether 40S actually does look better with open elements or with closed ones: then just have both! 40S is designed so that each and every combination goes well with each other . You don’t even have to do without drawers. On the contrary: have you already noticed how beautifully blended the transitions between the grip profiles for the drawers and the recessed handles for the doors are ?
Anyone wanting to gain some space will always have to think around corners too. Strangely enough, lots of shelf units and cabinets wouldn’t even dream of doing this. Because, however, rooms do have lots of lovely nooks and crannies just waiting to be used, 40S deliberately makes an exception here. And when deciding for or against a piece of furniture that is definitely a substantial feature.
Be honest: how many things do you own? A couple of hundred? More than a thousand? Researchers have done their sums: in an average home there are usually not less than fifteen thousand objects. Among them you’ll find plenty of practical and valuable things, but also some things that for reasons both quirky and personal you just can’t bring yourself to part with. But then you don’t have to. Since in a 40S everything will find the best place imaginable.
The phrase “I’ll just drop by the office” is given a whole new life when the workplace no longer looks like overtime but like a place where you enjoy being. 40S is brilliant to use for all those things you need in the office. Suddenly you’re always happy to take out those suspension files again, the printer cartridges and even the ever popular income tax papers that you have to keep for ten years.
There are some things that are so fine you like showing them off. Others are best stored away because they are mainly practical. This is why the display cabinet was once invented. Glasses and collections of cups could be presented attractively, while it was just as easy to put dishes and cutlery discreetly out of sight. A job incidentally that 40S performs not only in unusually fine style but also to extremely good account.
“Endless” is indeed a big word, but where the potential variations of the 40S are concerned, we just can’t think of a better one. For instance, did we mention the shelves with flexible adjustment? Or the 50 centimetre-deep TV and bar elements?
By the way, if this variety is still not enough for you, then the 40S can easily be combined with elements from our S 07 wardrobe system to make such spacious endless furniture that it won’t even fit on this screen.
